Dr Hari Priya Bandi is currently a Master of Philosophy and Research scholar at the Australian School of Advanced Medicine (Macquarie University) under the guidance of Professor Marcus Stoodley.
She completed her medical studies (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery) at the University of Adelaide, graduating in 2005. She has been an accredited neurosurgical registrar on the SET Neurosurgery training program with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons since 2009. Her specialty interests include Arteriovenous Malformations of the Brain, Neuro-Oncology, Skull Base Surgery, Peripheral Nerve surgery and Stereotactic Radiosurgery.
From 2013 -2014 Dr Bandi did a year of research with the Macquarie Neurosurgery group, who have been pioneering vascular targeting for the treatment of AVMs for the last 10 years involves progressing with previously identified molecules that can be used as the targets for vascular targeting and identifying the best conjugates that can selectively induce thrombosis in irradiated AVM tissue. In particular expanding to the in vivo phase with an AVM rat model incorporating stereotactic radiosurgery with the Gamma Knife.
