Joan O’Donnell is currently a PhD scholar at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (Macquarie University), under the guidance of Professor Michael Morgan, A/Professor Greg Savage and from the University of Sydney, Professor Anita Bundy. Her research is focused on the functional outcomes after surgery for unruptured intracranial aneurysms and brain arteriovenous malformations. The study is investigating the safety of returning to drive and quality of life after surgery. Joan completed a Bachelor of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy) at Cumberland College of Health Sciences in 1986 and a Master of Science (Medicine) at the University of Sydney in 1998. Her Master’s research examined functional outcomes following intracerebral haemorrhage.
